About Faculty
 

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was inaugurated in 1992, and commenced teaching in 1994. There are five departments in the faculty; Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, Economics, Business, Political Science and Public Administration, and International Relations.

 Academic staff of the faculty are composed of 14 Professors, 8 Assoc. Professors, 33 Assist. Professors, 3 Lecturers and 41 Research Assistants. Besides, 18 administrative staff work at the faculty. As of 2006-2007 education year, there are totally 4335 students.whose 2349 take education in day class education, and 1896 in evening class education. The distribution of students per lecturer is 24 students for day class education and 19 students for evening class education.

 The faculty is committed to Atatürk’s Principles and Revolutions, and teaches under the principles of contemporary, participative and emancipatory education. Umuttepe Campus in which the faculty is located offers a modern academic environment with its quake-resistant architecture, infrastructure and technical equipment. There are two modern computer laboratories that our students can use. Under the domestic and foreign exchange programmes, our students take education for one or two semesters in Turkish or EU-member countries’ universities. Additionally, our students enrolled in any department can take education from the other departments in the faculty, and in the departments of journalism, radio tv & cinema and public relations and publicity of the Faculty of Communication under the double major programme.

 Our faculty offers Foreign Language Preparatory Class for all the departments. Following the preparatory class, our students take pre-provisional english courses throughout 6 semesters in addition to the other courses.

 We endavour for further development and advancement of Turkey in the 21st century with our distinguished and dedicated staff, and would like to share that we will be happy with the visit of university candidates to our university and faculty.
